Napa Valley is one of the most renowned wine growing regions in the
world. With elite American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) such as
Oakville and Rutherford to draw on, along with top quality hillside
fruit – including the famed D’Adamo Vineyard, we are able to create
one amazing Bordeaux style blend.
Here
are some of the amazing vineyards & appellations I source my grapes
from:

D’Adamo Vineyards are the epitome of the quality of
grapes that Napa Cabernet Sauvignon Vineyards should produce…...but
I am partial; they are my family from my mother’s side. My Zio
& Zia (Uncle & Aunt) are from Italy; Joe from Carlantino in the
Puglia region & Iris from Sassoferrato in the Marche region of
Italy. Both were exposed to winemaking from an early age. Joe
D’Adamo emigrated from a tiny town where everyone is a winemaker for
their family and the town festivals. Iris (Santi) D’Adamo emigrated
to St. Helena from Sassoferrato with her family as a teenager; they
lived –and worked- at Charles Krug Winery until they were situated
in the valley. Both are amazing people who worked hard for their
accomplishments and I feel blessed that they passed their Italian
traditions and passion for wine down to me.

Another family vineyard that produces high quality Cabernet
Sauvignon, Merlot, and Chardonnay. My Zio Savario (Zizi Sam)
meticulously cares for his grapes in order to assure low-yielding,
high quality fruit. Some of my favorite childhood memories include
learning how to make wine from my uncle and the Italian feast my Zia
Angelina creates for the big harvest party and bocce ball playing
after. My uncle was my first teacher, and I’m grateful for it!

Oakville is a world-famous wine growing region located in the heart
of the Napa Valley. It gained its name from the dense groves of dark
green valley oaks that once covered the area.
The excellent publicity of Oakville’s wines can in part be
attributed to the unique quality of its soils and enviable climate.
This perfect climate, not too hot (in the summer) or cold (in
winter), is what helps Cabernet Sauvignon from Oakville display the
essential qualities of this varietal – complex wines with great
structure, balance, and tannins that allow these wines to age for
many years.
Today, the Oakville appellation is one of the premier wine growing
regions in the world; even at only 2 acres wide, it’s a powerhouse.
Some of the most legendary wines are produced here; thanks in part
to the family-owned vineyards tended by meticulous growers and
visionary winemakers.

The neighboring AVA of Oakville, the Rutherford growing region is
known for its unique terroir particularly with its Cabernet
Sauvignon. Rutherford is named after Thomas Rutherford. George Yount
received this land as part of a land grant and gave it to his
daughter Elizabeth and her husband Thomas Rutherford in 1864 as a
wedding present. Thomas Rutherford established himself as a grower
and producer of high-quality wines during the late 1800s.
With a history as rich as its wines, Rutherford grapes are the
perfect addition to Brigitte.
